Facing Challenges

Challenges to achieve in this school are many. Success largely depends on the right attitude and perspectives toward education of the people who manage this school. We will need to train teachers individually as well as together, in order to achieve a strong integrated curriculum that is well rounded in all areas.

A challenge will be reaching the community, and developing a trusted reputation over time. The school has to prove itself in various ways, not just by test scores or how many students sign up for advanced courses. Once trust is established, people will put their faith in fayying and invest in the education of our students.

It is well noted that teenagers need more sleep to function at their best, and FaYYang academy wants to accommodate our students’ needs. Classes will instead start later and end later. Night classes will be implemented to help students who learn better at this time, it will also help students who have prior obligations during the day. This evening program will also lower class size to give students the best learning environment.

A shuttle system that works together with public transportation will help students get to and from school at all hours school is open. There will be major points that designate places that are safe and easier for family to pick up their child. Also the shuttle will assist students to volunteer, so lack of transportation will not inhibit students’ ability to service the community.

FaYYang strives to achieve a “universal design” internally and externally. It is a place where all diversity is embraced. Internally, we have re invented a holistic curriculum. To do this externally, the school will be stairless and doors will all be sliding to assist differently abled students. Desks will be redesigned to be malleable so it can accommodate various needs. FaYYang will partner with new technology to create tools for students that can assist human growth and facilitate learning.
